A reference copy is easier to manage when you save the context with the video. Record who created it, where you found it, when you saved it, and whether you received permission for any use beyond personal viewing.
Make a small record
Use a filename such as creator-topic-date-reference. Keep a text note containing the original TikTok URL and the creator’s handle. This prevents a useful example from becoming an unattributed file in a crowded folder.
Check the media
- Open the video on the destination device.
- Confirm the orientation and caption readability.
- Check audio sync and the final seconds.
- Compare the saved duration with the source.
If you need to edit, work only within the permission you received. A personal reference copy does not automatically authorize a commercial post, advertisement, or re-upload.
Keep the source available
Platforms change availability. A saved file can remain on your device while the original is removed or edited, so do not present it as current without checking the source again.
Use the TikTok page for public-link availability, and review other supported platforms when your project includes more than one source.
Use Solution Hub
Paste a supported public link into the analyzer, review the formats detected from the source, and choose the option that fits your device. Solution Hub does not require an account for the basic link-analysis flow.
